Welcome!

We are so glad that you are interested in Portico Church Arlington! Our community is made up of people from various backgrounds and experiences. Whether you have followed Christ for many years or are brand new to church, you are welcome here!

We gather together on Sunday mornings to foster gospel-centered worship through singing, preaching, praying, and celebrating communion and baptism. Here is what you can expect from a Sunday service at Portico:

Worship

One way that we worship God is through singing. The Worship Team leads the community in songs of praise each week. Worship ranges from the more current and contemporary to traditional hymns.

Message

One of our pastors delivers a message each Sunday directly out of Scripture. Steeped in the Word of God, these messages can be topical (addressing a topic) or expository (examining a particular passage of Scripture). The purpose of each message is to connect the mind and the heart to the truth of God’s Word.

Sacraments

Each week we take communion together, partaking of bread and juice in remembrance of Christ’s body and blood that was poured out for us on the cross.  Additionally, during the year we celebrate the baptism of believers through submersion in water, symbolizing our union with Christ in His death and resurrection. Prayer

Prayer plays a large role in our weekly services. Prayer MInistry members gather every Sunday to cover our services in prayer. They will also be available every Sunday to pray for anyone who needs prayer, both before and after services.

Community

Portico is a family of believers. There are great opportunities to connect with others before and after the service. People gather at 10:15 in the lobby for a chance to catch-up with one another, and there is always information available on Sundays about how to connect further at the church.

Children

During our services, we offer care for infants all the way through grade-school aged children. Our Portico Kids volunteers provide and safe and nurturing environment for our children to play, sing, and learn to trust and follow Jesus through Bible lessons and worship each week!
